Yankton Summer Driver’s Ed (Afternoon Classes) – 2026

Thank you for your interest in our 2026 Driver’s Education Program through DRIVEN School of Driving LLC. Below are the scheduled class details for Yankton, South Dakota, for Summer 2026.

Eligibility

• Students must be 13½ years old by the class start date to register.
• The afternoon class is capped at 90 students.

Program Details

Yankton Driver’s Education – Fee: $450

Class Dates:
June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2026

Classroom Time:
11:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Driving Instruction

• Initial driving sessions will be scheduled once classroom instruction begins.
• After the initial drive, all remaining drives will be arranged directly between the student and instructor at the conclusion of each scheduled drive.
• Driving times will vary and may extend up to 60 days after the final classroom session.
• Students will drive with a partner and coordinate driving times that best fit their schedules.

Course Requirements

• 30 hours of classroom instruction
• 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving
• Students must score 80% or higher on both the classroom and driving portions to successfully complete the course.
• There is a no-refund policy for this course. Students who fail either portion will be required to retake the course.

We strongly encourage parents to practice driving with their child throughout the program. Students who already hold an instructional permit will be given priority placement in the classroom. The more confident a student is behind the wheel, the more successful they will be in the program.

Instructional Permit Recommendation

If your child is already 14 years old, we strongly encourage obtaining an instructional permit prior to driver’s education. Benefits include:

1. Allowing students to begin practicing with a parent to build essential driving skills
2. Beginning the 180-day waiting period, helping expedite eligibility for a restricted minor’s license

April–May Early Driving Option

Students who are interested in beginning the driving portion of driver’s education during April–May should check the appropriate box in the registration section.

Please note:

• Checking the box does not guarantee placement in the April–May early driving option.
• Priority will be given to students who already hold an instructional permit.
• Additional consideration will be given to older students.
• Early driving is capped at 30 students.
